If your prints come out with melted smudges, the fuser film sleeve (the heat-resistant layer in the fuser unit) is worn. Here’s how to install our refurbished sleeve:
- Disassemble the fuser unit:Remove the fuser (see our earlier guide), then use a screwdriver to open the unit’s casing.
- Remove the old sleeve:Gently peel the worn sleeve off the fuser’s heating element (don’t scratch the element).
- Prep the new sleeve:Apply a small amount of fuser grease (included with our unit) to the heating element (this prevents sticking).
- Install the sleeve:Slide our refurbished sleeve over the element—align the tabs with the unit’s guides.
- Reassemble & test:Put the fuser unit back together, reinstall it in the printer, and print a test page (no smudges = success).
Our fuser film sleeves are made from OEM-grade heat-resistant material—they handle 200°C+ temperatures without warping. We include free grease and a mini-screwdriver with bulk orders.
